Why Your Podcast and Voice Matters More Than Ever
Right now, the world feels heavy. With so much happening around us, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and even hesitant to speak up. But here’s the truth: your voice and your podcast matter now more than ever.
Whether you’re using your podcast to educate, inspire, or simply connect with your audience, it has the power to create meaningful change—both in your business and in the lives of your listeners. If you’ve been feeling stuck or unsure about what to say, this post is here to remind you why showing up matters and how to do it with confidence and authenticity.
Why Your Voice Matters
Your podcast is more than just content—it’s a platform where you can share your perspective, offer support, and build a sense of connection with your audience. And right now, people are craving authenticity and leadership.
When you speak up, you give others permission to do the same. Your unique experiences, insights, and stories have the power to resonate with someone who needs to hear them. Staying silent doesn't serve anyone—but showing up authentically does.
Overcoming the Fear of Judgment
Let’s be honest—putting your voice out there can feel intimidating. What if no one listens? What if you get it wrong?
Here’s the thing: you don’t have to have all the answers to show up. Your audience values real, honest conversations over perfection. Instead of focusing on what could go wrong, focus on how your message can serve and support your listeners.
Tips to build confidence in your voice:
Start small—share your thoughts authentically, even if it’s imperfect.
Remember that your audience values connection over perfection.
Focus on the impact you can make, rather than the fear of getting it wrong.
How to Use Your Podcast with Purpose
If you’re wondering how to align your podcast with your message during uncertain times, here are a few ways to stay intentional:
Reconnect with Your Core Message
Ask yourself: Why did I start my podcast in the first place?
Realign your content with your original mission and values.
Provide Value and Support
Share actionable tips, inspiration, or even personal stories that help your audience navigate their own challenges.
Engage with Your Listeners
Encourage feedback, start conversations, and be open to what your audience needs most right now.
Amplifying Other Voices
Your podcast isn’t just about your voice—it’s a platform to uplift others. Consider featuring diverse perspectives, collaborating with guests, or highlighting voices that need to be heard.
By using your platform to amplify others, you’re contributing to a larger movement of connection, support, and empowerment.
Final Thoughts
Your podcast has the power to make a difference, and now is the perfect time to show up with confidence and intention. Remember, your voice matters, your message is important, and your audience is listening.

208: Why Your Podcast and Voice Matters More Than Ever
[00:00:00] Let's be real. Sometimes. The world feels really heavy. Right now in the wake of this election, I know a lot of us are feeling frustrated, angry, maybe even a little powerless. But here's what I want you to know today. Your voice. Matters now more than ever. Speaking up, whether it's your podcast, social media, or even in your daily conversations is an act of resistance. Because when we stay silent, We shrink ourselves. When we doubt whether what we have to say is important, we're giving up the very thing that makes us powerful. Our voice. And I get it, putting yourself out there can feel terrifying.
[00:00:40] Believe me. I know. Maybe you're afraid of criticism. Maybe you're worried about getting it wrong, right? But today, I want to remind you that courage. Isn't the absence of fear it's choosing to speak up despite the fear. And this episode, I'm going to be talking all about why using your voice as an act of power, how to move past the fear of judgment. [00:01:00] And why your perspective is exactly what the world needs right now.
[00:01:04]
[00:01:45] Hello, everyone.
[00:01:46] Welcome back to Share strategize and shine. I'm coming at you. On January 22nd, 2025. We have just had the inauguration of our presidents. [00:02:00] And. To say that this has been a hard week is like an understatement of the century. I didn't think that it was going to affect me as much as it has and it really has.
[00:02:10] And so I've been really leaning into things that I love, like baking and talking to my clients and helping them work on their podcast. And that has really been helping me. But. I want to put this episode into a little bit of context in why I decided this was something I wanted to talk about. So. Right before the inauguration a TikTok was shut down.
[00:02:33] I have been on TikTok for a while. I am not like I'm not using the platform to grow my podcast or my business. Um, I actually tried that for a while and it didn't feel organic, which actually has a lot to do with how my Instagram was also feeling. And I actually feel like I'm, you know, I'm ready to try TikTok again.
[00:02:52] And of course, then it shuts down. Well, when it came back up, it was very clear that TikTok was not the same. And there was a [00:03:00] lot of censorship happening. There was a lot of things being blocked in the search. And it just didn't feel the same. And it really struck me. How impactful it was, the people who were speaking out, the people who were moving off the platform. And starting their own thing.
[00:03:16] And if you've been in my sphere for any amount of time, you know, that one of the things I have been working on. This year is my purpose and what my purpose is. And one of the things that I have it's right on my homepage of my website is, you know, I am here to empower you to amplify your voice. And so I felt like this was such a timely moment with. Things that are going on in our country and around the world to talk about why using our voices is so, so important and why it's so important to me.
[00:03:51] So let's dive in.
[00:03:52] If you're feeling like your voice doesn't matter. I want to, I want you to hear this loud and clear. It absolutely does. Throughout history [00:04:00] change has always started with voices, voices that maybe were small and uncertain and, and even afraid. I mean, think about it. The women who fought for our rights. The activists who refuse to be silent, they didn't start out fearless. They started by choosing to speak, even when their voices shook. And podcasting it's so much more than a platform for sharing ideas. It's a space where we really claim our stories, where we challenged the status quo and we create communities.
[00:04:30] Right. And that's what I love about podcasting. And I really, really hope that what is happening on the social media platforms does not start happening. And the podcasting world. And there's a couple of reasons why I want to highlight why your voice matters. One of the big ones, and I feel this way, immensely being a woman. But representation matters when you speak, you show others, especially other women that they can [00:05:00] too. Your perspective, your experiences and your truth are unique.
[00:05:03] And they add to the bigger conversation.
[00:05:06] And here's the other thing, like silence doesn't create change when we stay silent. When we stay quiet, we let other people control the narrative. Speaking up, even in small ways, challenges the norm and make space for new ideas. And I think this is really true in the business world, too. A lot of us are business owners, right?
[00:05:24] We have a business and part of why we have a business is because we wanted to do something differently. I know for me, that's a huge part of what I do. I wanted to support podcasters. In a different way than I was seeing the support being given. In the podcasting world. These are things that I get to talk about on my podcast and share. You know, and I do think change is happening. I think about this a lot.
[00:05:48] I actually was a ballet dancer. Many many years ago, it was my major in college. It's what I was going to do for the rest of my life. And I got injured. And I quit, like completely [00:06:00] quit the ballet world because I was really unhappy with some of the stuff that was going on. In the ballet world, as it related to. Body image and things like that. This is like a whole story for another day.
[00:06:12] Maybe I'll write a book about it. Um, But. I ended up quitting. And I think about this a lot when I think about sharing. Our voices and how, like, what happens when we don't speak up? And sometimes I kick myself because I could have been quite the force for change in the ballet world. And they could have been involved in some really exciting things. Had I had the courage and had I had the support right.
[00:06:39] To share my voice in the way that mattered to me and the way that was impactful. And so that that's really, what I try to do with my clients is be that support for them that I didn't have.
[00:06:49] Now another reason is your story can inspire others. Like you never know, who's listening and needs to hear exactly what you have to say. Your words could be the encouragement. Someone [00:07:00] else needs to step up and do the thing that they want to do. That's why I try to be so encouraging on this podcast, because I want you all to start a podcast. And to have that podcast be impactful for you.
[00:07:11] And so that's another reason why sharing my voice in this way on this platform is so, so important. So let's talk about. Overcoming fear. And self-doubt because. You know, if I start speaking out on the things that are important to me, What if people judge me. And here's the truth. There will always be people who disagree with you.
[00:07:30] There will always be critics, but guess what? There will also be people who are inspired by you. Who resonate with your words and who feels seen and your messaging, right. And I know it's really easy to say, like, just show up and do it, but let's actually talk about some things that I do to push past that fear and show up anyway. One is start small.
[00:07:56] Like you do not have to dive deep into everything. Um, I [00:08:00] think this is the first time I've even hinted at politics on my podcast. It's not something I'm super comfortable talking about in a public forum, because I don't want to be judged. I don't want to get attacked. Right. So start small, you know, start by sharing your experiences.
[00:08:13] What's on your heart. Build that confidence over time. I am. 40 years old right now. I have spent most of my life worrying about what other people think about me or trying to please other people. And I've actually reached this point where I'm like, this is what I believe. This is what I want to do. This is what I want to practice. And it feels really good, but it took time to get here.
[00:08:33] And I just want to like, say that because you don't just wake up one morning with all the confidence in the world. Okay. This is a big one for me. Remember your why? When that fear starts to creep in. I want you to go back to why you started in the first place. Are you here to educate and power? Create change. Let that be your driving force, not fear. So really coming up with like a mission statement, a [00:09:00] why statement has been super powerful for me and has really helped me. Like when I'm working on my episodes, I have that in my notion board, my statement right there.
[00:09:09] So I have to look at it when I'm creating episodes and it really helps me stick to like, Why I'm here and it helps me to make really good decisions about my podcast, the topics I talk about, the guests I bring on. So definitely lean into your why. Embrace imperfection. Okay. You do not have to be perfect. You did not have to have all of the answers and you will make mistakes.
[00:09:34] And that's okay. The important thing is that you show up authentically any you'll acknowledge your mistakes and that's all you can do.
[00:09:43] So. After you've kind of embraced the fear. You know, find the fear, feel the fear, do it anyway, that kind of thing. You're ready to speak up, but now what. Like, how do you use your voice with purpose when it comes to podcasting? [00:10:00] And I have a few ways that I like to think of creating impact and intention with my podcasts. One, I mentioned why we're going to talk about that just for a second more and that's podcasting with purpose.
[00:10:14] So whether you're talking about business wellness, personal growth, I want you to think about how you can infuse your values into your content. Even sharing like personal experiences or lessons can make a huge difference.
[00:10:30] I find that when you are able to lean into this a little bit and really creating content with purpose, It makes the impact of your podcast greater, but it also makes the process of podcasting so much easier for you. So, whatever that purpose is again, that why, like, why are you doing this in the first place?
[00:10:49] Why do you have your business and not, I want to make money. Like, what is the underneath? Why for me, like I said, it's helping people share their voices. That's my ultimate mission. Right? And [00:11:00] so by keeping that in the back of my head and, and infusing that into my podcast. It makes sitting down to record writing, show notes, doing all the things so much easier. The second thing you can do is create a space safe. Create a safe space for dialogue. So encourage conversation, invite different perspectives. Make sure that your podcast is a space where your community feels heard.
[00:11:23] And if you have very specific ideas about things, And you're not being clear about them and your audience is finding them out. In other ways, that's not. Authenticity right. So. Don't be afraid to invite people on for these conversations. You know, I know that I've had people on my podcast where I didn't necessarily agree with what they said, but we learned a lot from each other and it's helped me grow and it's helped my business grow and my podcast girl, so. Don't be afraid to do that. And the last one is, amplify other voices.
[00:11:58] I think this is something that [00:12:00] I want to do more of, especially within my community. But I really want to use my platform to lift others up. So I want to feature guests, share resources. I want to highlight other voices. That align with my values, but also align with my purpose and my why. Right. You know, and one of the things I think about a lot is my membership and like, how can I highlight my members even more?
[00:12:23] Right. So. At the end of the day. Please remember that using your voice is one of the most powerful things you can do. It's an active defiance of courage of leadership. So this is my challenge to you. I want you to just share something this week, whether it's an episode of post or even just a conversation with a friend. Use your voice because you matter. And your words matter. And your place in this world matters so much.
[00:12:56] And if you're ready to step into your voice with more confidence and [00:13:00] support. I would love for you to check out my membership. Ah, the strategize and shine membership. This is a place where. I'm helping people grow their podcasts, find their voice connect with other podcasters who are showing up and make an impact. There's resources, support, accountability. All of that. It's about doing it together because podcasting can feel so much like a silo. So, enrollment is actually open for my membership right now.
[00:13:27] So you can head to wild home podcasting.com/membership. And let's podcast together because that's building community is such an incredible piece of podcasting that I think we forget.
